Reminder to Vote for 2016 Board of Directors and Amendment to Bylaws Before October 13 Annual Meeting



The Bristol Cove Owners Association (BCOA) Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. at the Waukee Library.  

Please remember to get your Bristol Cove Owners Association 2016 Board of Directors Election Ballot and Amendment to Bylaws in before the Annual Meeting.  See details on the candidates and the Amendment below as detailed in the election notice and ballot card mailed to all owners.

Unless voting in person, all mailed or delivered ballots must be received by October 13, 2015, in order to be counted in the election. A 40 percent quorum is required!  Please complete, sign and date the proxy statement ballot card >>

Election of Directors to the 2016 Board of Directors

Election of two (2) Directors to the Board of Directors of the Bristol Cove Owners Association for a two-year term beginning on January 1, 2016 and ending on December 31, 2017, or thereafter when their successors shall be elected and qualified.

Please cast your vote on the enclosed card, no more than two (2) votes for the candidate names listed below: (Note: according to the BCOA Bylaws [Article V, Section 2.], cumulative voting rules apply, meaning each eligible homeowner can cast up to 2 votes, to be distributed as they choose among from 2 candidates or write ins)

Below are statements from candidates that have requested nominations.

Allen Bonini (incumbent)--I have served on the Board for the past two years and would be honored to be able to serve our community for another term.  I have appreciated the commitment and professionalism of my colleagues on the current Board and would welcome the opportunity to continue to contribute to the Board's efforts to maintain cost-effective management of the Association's affairs. Therefore I ask for your support in the upcoming election for the Board of Directors.  Thank you!

Jim Langdon (incumbent)--I have served on the Board for the past two years with a focus on updating the landscaping and maintaining the grounds.  I have enjoyed working with the Board and members of our community and would welcome the opportunity to continue contributing in making this community a great place to live. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Board Monitoring Impact of 142nd Street Project on Common Areas



The Bristol Cove Board has been monitoring the widening of 142nd Street relative to the impact on the Association's common areas. Board members have had ongoing discussions with the City and various contractors to insure all repairs will be made.


Latest Project Status Update- 08/27/2015

142nd Street is scheduled to close to through traffic around 9:00 AM Monday August 31st. It is anticipated to be closed for 3 weeks. The contractor will continue to work on the grading and storm sewer. The first section is scheduled to be paved on Thursday August 27th. Once
the power poles are relocated, the contractor will be preparing for additional street paving. 

Call for Nominations for the 2015 BCOA Board of Directors



As you may know, every October the Bristol Cove Owners Association (BCOA) holds its Annual Meeting of the members. This year’s meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Waukee Library, so please mark that date on your calendar!

A major purpose of this meeting is to elect members to the Board of Directors. Board members serve staggered two-year terms and this year members will be asked to elect two (2) members to serve on the five-member Board of Directors.

This notice is intended to solicit interest from any BCOA member in good standing that would be interested in placing their name up for nomination to the Board of Directors in the upcoming election.

If you are interested in being considered by the Nominating Committee to be slated for election to the Board of Directors, please email your expression of interest to Tyler Anderson, Chairman, BCOA Nominating Committee at tanderson@bristolcovehoa.com or by mail to BCOA Nominating Committee, 2200 NW 159th Street, Suite 400, Clive, IA 50235 no later than September 14, 2015. Candidates are also encouraged to submit a brief, one paragraph statement to be used to inform the members of their interest in serving on the Board.

Friendly Reminders

Just a few friendly reminders from the Bristol Cove Owners Association (BCOA) Board ...
  • BCOA Annual Dues invoices were emailed/mailed on January 1 and are due January 31, 2015.
  • We encourage all Owners to become familiar with the Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CCRs) governing Bristol Cove. The CCRs are publicly recorded deed restrictions filed with the Dallas County Recorder's Office and are included in the title to each owner's property.  The CCRs can also be found on the BCOA website >>   In the coming year, please take specific note of the following restrictions that have been reoccurring issues:
    • 2.12   Garbage Cans and Equipment 
    • 2.13   Tents and Trailers  (concerning trailers, boats, campers, motorhomes and trucks rated 3/4 ton or greater)

    Bristol Cove Owners Association Officers Elected

    At the January 5 meeting of the Bristol Cove Owners Association Board of Directors, the 2015 Officers were elected.  Kevin Klein will continue to serve as President, Jim Langdon as Vice President and Carolyn Conner as Secretary-Treasurer.

    Committee Chairs were also appointed.  Langdon will also continue to Chair the Landscape Committee and Board Directors Allen Bonini and newly-elected Board Director Tyler Anderson will serve as Co-Chairs of the Covenant Committee.

    The Bristol Cove Homeowners Association Board of Directors depends upon volunteers to help with all the work that is needed to manage and maintain the Association. The more hands and voices working together will create a stronger, thriving Bristol Cove community.
